THE LIGHTER SIDE OF WAR, 2/95, 40" x 40"
What does he mean? Well, here's the scenario. Woman on the right holding baby. Baby looks distinctly Asian. Chopped-off foot and leg parts lie at her feet. At lower left is a black-skinned man in a cage. Looming over the woman is a guerrilla fighter with a belt of bullets across his chest and a machine-gun in his raised arms. He looks Hispanic. From stage left comes a clown with an actual foam-rubber nose who goes right through the body of the guerrilla, killing him at the instant he is about to do harm to the woman and baby. The guerrilla's enemy has perfected the strategy of firing projectile clowns at the guerrillas. The clown just loves it. Doesn't hurt a bit. The headline-like words painted on the picture makes this rather look like a mock photo for the cover of Time magazine.
